Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how James Sibley ("James," "I," "me," or "we") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit james-sibley.com (the "Site"). James Sibley is an independent aquaculture and food-systems content creator operating as an individual.
Information I collect
Information you provide. When you use the contact form, you voluntarily provide your name, email address, organization (optional), the type of inquiry you select, and the message you write. I only receive this information when you choose to submit the form.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the hosting provider may log basic technical data — such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you view — for security, troubleshooting, and to keep the Site running. The Site does not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies of its own.
Third-party content. The Site displays an Instagram feed through Behold and links to or embeds content from platforms including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn. When that content loads or you click through, those third parties may set their own cookies or collect data under their own privacy policies, which I do not control. The Site also uses Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address in order to deliver fonts.
How I use your information
I use the information you provide to:
- respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about potential collaborations, campaigns, or appearances;
- operate, maintain, and secure the Site.
Contact-form submissions are processed by my form provider, Static.app, and may be reviewed by me and by my management agency, SALT, in order to respond to and handle your inquiry.
How I share your information
I do not sell your personal information. I may share the details you submit with my management agency (SALT) and with service providers who help operate the Site (such as my hosting and form provider), and only so they can perform those services. I may also disclose information if required by law.
Data retention
I keep the information you submit only for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and to maintain reasonable business records, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you have submitted by emailing james@sibleys.net. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, and I will honor valid requests to the extent required by law.
Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact me and I will delete it.
Security
I take reasonable measures to protect the information submitted through the Site. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-party links
The Site links to external websites and social platforms. I am not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third parties, and I encourage you to review their policies.
Changes to this policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
Governing law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
